The aim of the test is to research the impact and effectiveness of our company’s product, which aims to delay decay and prevent ripening in fruit and vegetables.
The test involves measuring ripening and decay in watermelon, using different parameters, both with and without the use of the product for delaying decay.
All the tests were carried out in 2 identical refrigerated chambers with 4 watermelons weighing approximately 6 kg. They were harvested 24 hours before the start of the test. The initial analysis was carried out and then again after 0, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 14 days, testing the weight of the stored watermelon.

Crimson Sweet Watermelon: From the company DOFRAN (El Ejido – Almería), using apricots produced in Spain.
Filter: A KEEPCOOL filter was used to slow ripening and decay, and it was placed in an M-CAM 200 machine with a germicidal lamp.
Refrigerated container: The refrigerated container was equipped with a program to control the temperature, humidity and light levels. In order to carry out this test, a storage temperature of 19oC was used, with no changes made to the humidity.
1.69% less weight lost
Over 14 days the loss was less pronounced for the watermelon stored with a KEEPCOOL filter (0.57%) compared to the watermelon stored without a filter (2.26%).
Better product texture
The loss of texture for the samples was less pronounced with the samples stored with the KEEPCOOL filter.
Better product colour
The colour keeps better in the products stored with the KEEPCOOL filter.
